This award facilitates learners in developing leadership skills such as organisation, communication and teamwork, as well as helping them to build confidence and self-esteem as they take on the responsibility of leading their peers and younger children.
The skills developed through this programme are fundamental to a young person’s success and can be carried into differing social situations, higher education and across all areas of employment.
It is these skills that are so fundamentally important to the growth of a well-rounded young person and are also essential in all areas of employment.
This dedicated programme develops skills in five incremental steps; safety and professional values, planning and briefing, organisation and communication, behaviour management and leadership and, finally, taking the lead.
The Young Leader Programme runs over a full week with each day’s learning building on the previous one. It will be managed and delivered by a member of the senior management team who is dedicated to supporting this programme and the young leaders.
They will deliver a range of practical and theoretical group sessions, whilst also providing one-to-one mentoring throughout the week.
Although this sounds like a lot of hard work, the training will be interspersed with the opportunity to join in with any of the activities running that day.
This will also enable our Young Leaders to develop practical skills in activities such a rock climbing, archery and quad biking, as well as just having the best time on our giant inflatables.
