“Staff place a strong focus on the care of children, as well as keeping them safe while having fun!”
Ofsted stopped by for an inspection during the Easter holidays and, of course in typical Activ Camps style, we passed it with flying colours.
We’ve included lots of quotes from the inspection report below:
Our Activities
“Staff plan a stimulating programme of activities, based around children’s ages, abilities and interests. There is a wide range of resources and equipment… This helps them to learn new skills, while having fun.”
Our activities aim to improve every child’s engagement, foster the development of general skills and sports-specific abilities, as well as broader leadership and communication abilities in a welcoming and safe atmosphere.
“[Activ Camps] offer children a range of activities that are thoughtfully planned and resourced. For example, children enjoy a range of team games, football sessions, inflatable obstacle courses and swimming sessions.”
Kids have the opportunity to enjoy 60+ activities, from fast-paced ‘invasion games’, wild and wacky ‘crazy games’, one of our many GIANT inflatables that are always a favourite with the kids and many many more.
For our older children we have some great opportunities to learn some valuable life skills through our rookie and young leadership programmes where they can work closely with our staff during the camps.

Safeguarding & Safety
“There is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children’s interests first.”
At Activ Camps we’re committed to upholding the highest standards within safeguarding and child protection.
We have a robust safer recruitment process in place; this ensures the suitability of all adult on site and includes in-depth safeguarding training. This is so everyone working with your children can remain vigilant to keep your child safe.
“Staff set age-appropriate rules and expectations, which supports children’s good behaviour and promotes their safety.”
Every activity has in-depth safety instructions that our staff will clearly highlight before every session ensuring the kids understand how to enjoy the activity in a safe manner.
“Staff know children well, what their interests are and how to support them in their play. Consequently, children are confident to seek help and reassurance.”
Our fully-trained and fun-loving staff members work with your children on a ratio of 1:8. Because of our smaller group sizes, staff members are able to provide children with more individualised attention, ensuring that they are always well taken care of.
Our staff
“Staff are good role models and provide lots of praise and encouragement during activities to support children’s confidence and self-esteem.”
We recognise that the staff we employ make all the difference to your child’s enjoyment of Activ Camps and, therefore, we only ever employ the very best adults. We focus on recruiting kind, caring and fun-loving adults at all of our holiday camps in London.
‘Staff provide children with a warm and welcoming environment’
We set extremely high standards of all of our team and make sure our staff ‘always attend regular training’ and consistent updates so that they can provide the best experience to the kids and we always ensure that they feel valued by the provider.
As Ofsted note, ‘Newer members of staff value the support they receive through induction procedures’ which ensures that our staff effortlessly fit into their role during the camp.
Inclusivity
“[Activ Camps] collects in-depth information from parents before children start and they work together using this to ensure that all children can join in and have fun while at the camp.”
We pride ourselves on being inclusive throughout all our camps, clubs and event, and work hard to build great relationships with parents/carers and local authorities to support all children.
“[Activ Camps] work closely with local authorities to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”
Ofsted even noticed that all the amazing children that join our camps help to create an amazing environment for staff and kids alike.
“Children are kind and considerate to others. For instance, older children offer support to their younger friends as they help them to complete obstacle courses.”
This is something we really value and promote ensuring the games are running smoothly to maximise enjoyment for everyone.
What do parents and carers say?
If the glowing report from Ofsted wasn’t enough, this is what some of the parents had to say about their experience with Activ Camps during the Easter Holiday;
“My son couldn’t have been happier! We even had to book an extra day. He made loads of new friends and bonded so well with the staff. 10 out of 10!” (Amanda)
“Happily exhausted children come home every evening with great stories of team games, adventure activities, caring staff and new friends.” (Kathryn)
Whether it’s a child’s first time or their hundredth, we want the staff at Activ Camps to greet them with a smile and a warm welcome. Children are guaranteed the finest Easter, Summer, and Half-Term Holidays possible with an abundance of exciting activities!
