Dear All,
As the year draws to a close we wanted to take the time to send our thanks, reflect on the year passed and let you know of our future plans
Thank you for having been a part of what was a wonderful year. A year in which we provided a total of 17,759 days of non stop fun to children in South West London. Thank you for the smiles, pleasant chats and kind words. Most importantly, thank you for entrusting us with your children and allowing us to build happy memories with them over their holidays, sharing in the excitement of fantastic activities and friendships made.
We also thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us in the survey that we emailed out. We were chuffed as your responses were overwhelmingly positive. For example 98% of you said that you’re likely to come back to Activ Camps again in the future.
Of course that’s not quite 100% and therefore there is work to be done. We are now in a position to let you know about some of the changes and improvements we’ll be putting in place. So here we go…
More camps, more non stop fun!
Many mentioned opening new venues nearer to home or running camps across more holidays, and this will be happening!
We are happy to announce that 2019 will see the very first February half term camp! Emanuel School will kindly be opening the doors to their fantastic facilities for yet another holiday. Bookings for this camp are now open. Click here to ensure your place.
We’re also in talks with a number of venues in South London, all with amazing facilities, that may soon be home to another Activ Camps.
More activities, more non stop fun!
We love variety at Activ Camps and always ensure that your children get different and exciting activities from day to day and week to week. One of our biggest attractions is undoubtedly our arsenal of epic inflatables. Everyone has their favourite, be it the Sweeper, the Mountain or the Monster. Now, we need a new one!
The problem is we don’t know exactly what. So, who best to ask? Your kids! Click here to download our ‘Design an Inflatable’ sheet and get creative with your children. The designs we like most will be built in to the real thing!
Not only will one young designer be etched into Activ Camps history but we’ll also be sending out prizes to lots of our favourites.
Activities, but what activities?
2018 saw the introduction of our amazing Activ illustrations, livening up our flyers and posters but also used on our our activity boards, displaying what activities will be running on each day of the week. These have proved a huge hit, getting the kids excited and helping the adults get an understanding as to what each activity is.
We now want to take this one step further and, responding to your feedback, we will release visual timetables for the holiday to come in the weeks leading up to the camp. These will be emailed out and posted on our social media pages (why not give us a follow!).
Speeding up drop off…
A fantastic suggestion by one of you, we began speeding up drop off by emailing out PDF copies of the sign in slips. Unfortunately in the rush of mid summer we fell off the wagon a little on this. However, we will reinstate this practice next year and take it to another level.
You will now be able to pick up printed slips at camp, saving you having to print them and encouraging more parents/carers to do the same speeding the process even more.
After Camp Club…
We’re glad to hear that the existence of an After Camp Club at Activ Camps brings great relief and joy to our parents and carers. However, as some have very fairly pointed out, the club lacked some structure. We have therefore developed a more rigid plan that we hope will work for both the ‘I’m exhausted’ and the ‘I’ll never, ever, ever run out of energy’.
This will include a non stop fun group activity, some creative challenges, board games and camp vs camp competitions. Children who are running low on energy will also have access to some books, colouring pencils and some cuddly toys.
2019 Prices…
2019 will see a small increase in our prices for daily bookings however the bonus is that we’ll also be further increasing the weekly discount, now up toward 15%. Your children will therefore be able to access Activ Camps weekly programme in full, not missing out on any of our epic activities.
We’ll also not be bringing these increased prices immediately. An ‘Early Bird’ offer is available which means you’ll only be paying the 2018 price. This offer runs until March 1st for our Easter prices and May 1st for our May half term and Summer camps. All bookings for February half term will be priced as in 2018. Click here to get your booking in early.
Swimming pool upset…
At both Emanuel School and Wimbledon College the swimming pool was a great source of disappointment over the summer. After a combination of planned works and a series of unfortunate events we only managed to get one week’s use from either pool. This was of course very frustrating for everyone involved; the children, you, our staff and our lifeguards. Unfortunately there was absolutely nothing that we could do about this.
Fortunately with it being such a warm summer we were able to double up on Water Fight Mania, soak the slides and foam up the Slip ‘n’ Slide. We’re also pleased to say that both pools were running over the October half term.
Any other business?
If you have any further thoughts, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We always welcome your feedback and love a good chat.
Don’t forget, bookings for February half term and most other holidays will follow soon. If your preferred venue isn’t available yet, don’t worry it will be soon! Otherwise, we wish you a wonderful Christmas, New Year and anything else that may fall in between us seeing you again.
Kindest regards and high fives to all,
Lily, Will, P and James
